2024 MILEAGE - 31.6
I got the New Year off to a good start with a ride on our stationary cycle this afternoon while awaiting Michigan's appearance in the Rose Bowl. Having closed out 2023 with several great science fiction movies, I began this new year with perhaps the granddaddy (or 'king') of them all: 2001: A Space Odyssey.
One person who posted about it on YouTube said, "It's amazing that this film was made in the 60s (1968) ... it looks as though it could have been made today, well into the 21st century!" I'm pretty sure I saw it when it was first released in the theaters, even though that was a very rare occurrence, as we lived in a place where the nearest theater was 20 miles away, and we never went to the movies. (Of course, it long predated streaming or any other means of watching movies in the home, too.)
Anyway, this gave me a ride of 31.6 virtual miles, in 2:29.
