This morning I read a glowing review of Mark and Mindy, the TV sitcom that ran from 1978 to 1982 and was the breakout vehicle that really brought Robin Williams to our attention. I had never seen it—it began during my senior year of college, and I was too busy to watch it then and so just never got into it. So I decided to acquaint myself with it'd ruing my ride today, and found full episodes on YouTube, so I watched the first five.

Today I really wimped out on my ride. I decided to watch the Disney 2009 animated version of A Christmas Carol. However, it was so dark that I was having difficulty seeing it, so I ended up settling for just watching the first third of the film.

Yesterday ended up being a significantly busier day than expected, and as it shrank down toward evening, I figured I'd try to go in and do a ride on our stationary cycle sometime after dinner. But then we received an invitation to go and spend the evening with my daughter Christy and our grandchildren at their house, and we accepted it eagerly, as this was a significant upgrade from my riding plans.
Today I decided to get up and get my ride done fairly early, and so began about 7:30, riding while watching a movie I've seen before (December 11 of last year)—The Man Who Invented Christmas, a 2017 film that presents a clever and creative look at Charles Dickens and his process of writing in 1843 the classic book A Christmas Carol, including several flashbacks to episodes in the author's boyhood that contribute to the book. Google says, "The Man Who Invented Christmas is a fictionalized film that's not meant to be historically accurate. However, it does include some accurate details about Charles Dickens and the writing of A Christmas Carol."
This gave me a ride today of 15.9 virtual miles in 1:38.

Over the years, I've heard a great deal of discussion and debate about whether Die Hard, a 1988 action movie (crime/thriller), starring Bruce Willis, is a Christmas movie. On one hand, it is set at Christmastime (in Los Angeles), and features quite a bit of Christmas music. On the other hand, though, its spirit is far from Christmas-like.
Since I had never seen it before, I decided to remedy that omission during my ride today. While I'm glad to have finally seen it, I'll keep my judgment about that question of 'is it or isn't it' to myself.
