Yesterday ended up being a significantly busier day than expected, and as it shrank down toward evening, I figured I'd try to go in and do a ride on our stationary cycle sometime after dinner. But then we received an invitation to go and spend the evening with my daughter Christy and our grandchildren at their house, and we accepted it eagerly, as this was a significant upgrade from my riding plans.
Today I decided to get up and get my ride done fairly early, and so began about 7:30, riding while watching a movie I've seen before (December 11 of last year)—The Man Who Invented Christmas, a 2017 film that presents a clever and creative look at Charles Dickens and his process of writing in 1843 the classic book A Christmas Carol, including several flashbacks to episodes in the author's boyhood that contribute to the book. Google says, "The Man Who Invented Christmas is a fictionalized film that's not meant to be historically accurate. However, it does include some accurate details about Charles Dickens and the writing of A Christmas Carol."
This gave me a ride today of 15.9 virtual miles in 1:38.
